Confirming your pay before payroll

A few times a month, before Zoe runs payroll, a coloured card appears at the top asking you to check your pay hours for the period. This is your chance to catch a mistake before you’re paid.

  • What it shows — A big number — your pay hours for the period — with the note that it’s “your scheduled days minus any unpaid leave listed below. Flex over/unders are tracked separately and are not in this number.” If you had unpaid leave, each day is listed underneath.
  • What to check — Does the number match the days you actually worked? Is any unpaid-leave day listed that shouldn’t be (or missing that should)?
  • What it does — Confirms the number. The card changes to ✓ Confirmed and waits for Zoe to finalize payroll.
  • Watch out — If the number changed while the card was open, you’ll see a note that your hours “just changed” and the page reloads so you can review the new figure before confirming.
  • What it does — Opens a box where you type what looks wrong — for example “What looks wrong? e.g. ‘I worked Jul 20 but it’s not here.’” — then tap Send to Zoe.
  • What happens — The card becomes ⚠ You flagged this. Zoe reviews it, fixes the hours, and re-sends a fresh card for you to confirm. You must type a note — an empty box won’t send.
  • ✓ Confirmed — You’ve confirmed; Zoe hasn’t finalized payroll yet. Nothing more to do.
  • ⚠ You flagged this — You raised a concern; Zoe will fix and re-send it.
  • 🔒 Finalized — The period is locked in for payroll. It’s a read-only receipt — if it says “you confirmed it,” that’s your attestation on record.

Where your pay stubs live — QuickBooks Workforce

Section titled “Where your pay stubs live — QuickBooks Workforce”
  • What it is — The footer note reads: “💵 Your detailed pay stubs (gross, tax, net) are in QuickBooks Workforce — watch your email for an invite from the office.”
  • How to use it — Your detailed stubs — gross pay, tax, and net — are not in this hours tool. They’re in QuickBooks Workforce. Watch your email for an invite from the office, then sign in there for your pay history. Tapping the link opens Workforce in a new tab.
